September 2021 Weekend

September 2021 Weekend

It was amazing to see so many of you come out for the weekend event and see the smiles, laughter and energy in our wonderful village.

We had an enormous amount of visitors and raised lots of money for good causes.

We also learnt a lot and have a lot of helpful feedback should we decide to repeat it again next year.

None of this would have been possible without our fabulous committee, who worked tirelessly to bring it all together.

Committee:-  Anna Ettridge, Kate Collins, Rachel Appleton, Hilary Fry, Bunny Harris, BBC Radio Lincs presenter Amy.

Also a huge thank you to the local clubs who put on a show for the weekend; the Fire Station, the Church, the WI, the Reading Rooms, the Village Hall for the craft event and WI sustainability day,  the Wolds Community Mini Bus, the Book Group, Squirrel Lodge Hydrotherapy, the Bowling Club and the Parish Council.  Your help and support was truly appreciated.

The Teddy Bears picnic was the highlight to many of the children’s weekend, with a bouncy castle, a children’s entertainer, face painting from Selena and ice cream!  Thank you to all who attended and joined in the fun.

We also need to thank all the local villagers and businesses who donated to the raffle;

Village Hall Bar, The Shooting Shed, Binbrook Motors, The Chestnuts Holiday Lodge, Squirrel Lodge Hydro, Anneliese Mcghie, Lincs Co-Op, Maggie Burgess, Manor View Stores, Sing Pao, The Lincs Fryer, Fern Nursery, The’ Adora, Anna Yoga, West House B&B, B17 Café, The Plough Inn, Helen Thompson, Beauty by Beccy, Stacks & Wax and Wolds Refinery.

Over £500 was raised and this resulted in enough money to pay for the village defibrillator for another year and donate towards the WI’s new friendship bench.

And finally a massive thank you to, Terry for the loan of his field as an overflow car park, Decampo for the concert in the Church, and our  (un)official photographer for the weekend, Vincent Hunt.  He took some amazing images and captured the essence of the weekend perfectly.  These photos can all be viewed on our Facebook page and we plan to make a collage of the scarecrows to display in the bus shelter for all to see.
